It takes its name from the historic Kingdom of Strathclyde. It is Scotland’s third largest university by number of students, with students and staff from over 100 countries. The institution was awarded University of the Year 2012 and Entrepreneurial University of the year 2013 by Times Higher Education.

The 2023 PAC World Conference will be held at the triangular, nine-story, steel-framed building of the Technology and Innovation Centre at Strathclyde (TIC). It is a center for technological research whose construction was completed in early 2015, located in the heart of Glasgow.
